Our story
We began searching for a more reliable portable shelter option with our free range pigs, after the many challenges of building and maintaining A-frame huts. This journey led me down memory lane, recalling the huts that my parents used on the farm many years ago, which happened to be Port-A-Hut. I reached out to place an order and while we were loading the shelters, we began talking about the business. What started out as a discussion about the shelters for our free range animals at Wilsch Family Farm, turned into a discussion of acquiring Port-A-Hut.
My parents used these for livestock on the farm and I remembered growing up around these shelters. Our family saw first hand how well made and durable these shelters are, standing the test of time for pigs and with severe weather. I felt honored to continue the path of making these amazing high quality all-steel shelters available for others.
Since1964
Port-A-Hut has been manufacturing portable shelters since 1964, providing high-quality USA made shelters for small farmers. Our shelters are made with heavy galvanized corrugated steel with an angle iron frame. They were initially created for our pasture farrowing with over 300 sows many years ago. As the word spread about the portability and ease of assembly, so did the uses, as these versatile shelters serve many needs. Nowadays our shelters are used for all types of livestock and many other uses like lawn and garden shelters or garages. Port-A-Hut has since expanded to accommodate all sizes of farming operations.
